This is an enterprise 3G phone with data entry features, it has an autofocus camera that allows you to scan 1D and 2D barcodes when paired with the included DataWedge software.

When I got it, it had a dead battery that would not take a charge. It was the 3000 mAh extended battery, made of two 1500 mAh cells.

I replaced them with a single 1500 mAh cell, which has brought the phone to life. While the battery has a BMS with a fuel gauge chip, it doesn’t seem to be capable of learning the battery’s actual capacity, and such the reported battery state of charge is inaccurate:

• When charging, the battery will go from 50% to 100% in an instant
• When discharging, the phone shuts down when the battery goes below 50%

This behaviour matches the real capacity of my current cell.
