Origin Story
I found this unique laptop in the flea market for a very good price, along with it’s original carrying case. It was working, having a charged battery. From what the dude was saying to me, it sounded like he was the original owner.
Upgrades
I have performed the following upgrades:
- Memory: from the original 512 MB Micro-DIMM to a 1 GB Micro-DIMM I found on AliExpress
- Storage: from the original 60 GB 1.8” HDD to a 64 GB mSATA SSD in an adapter (showcased in this video)
- Wireless adapter: from the original Intel 3945ABG (802.11a/b/g) to Intel 5100 AGN mPCIe card
- Cooling: replaced the original thermal pads and compound, and added some extra thermal pads and thermal mass to increase thermal mass
